When experienced accountant and consolidation reporting expert Julia started looking for a new opportunity during an exceptionally competitive job market in the summer of 2020, she started to get discouraged – until she called upon Katalyst Group. An accountant by education and background, Julia prefers to have a plan. Upon introduction to Kevin Kaye, she quickly realized Kevin and Katalyst Group shared the same approach. A two-month search, spanning a short timeframe of July and August, led to Julia landing her role as Senior Financial Analyst at a five-billion-dollar company.

The client, a national wholesale company with a world class fulfillment network (National Wholesale Company),was looking to expand their local rebate team, a narrow specialization that required expertise in working on rebate models. Advanced technical skills working with complex formulas in Excel along with the ability to collaborate with individuals across the sales, merchandising, and accounting departments were required for the role.
Establishing an open line of communication, Kevin and Julia engaged in touch-point conversations throughout the hiring process. Understanding the National Wholesale Company’s culture and core business objectives, Kevin prepared Julia with how to effectively highlight her skills during her interviews along with being able to relate to her future team members on topics that mattered.
After interviewing with the senior leadership team members of the business accounting organization, Julia knew right then and there the role was a great fit.
Working in the highly specialized field of rebate analysis and reporting, Julia is in training mode for the next eight to 12 months. Her technical skills in Excel, SAP and Oracle are immediately being leveraged. Embracing the learning curve, Julia is thrilled with her collaborative team, where the culture is friendly. Given the rebate specialty in which Julia is in training, National Wholesale Company put extra emphasis on finding the right personality to join the team.
